How identification works

Snap or upload a photo of your catch. Reel runs it through an AI vision model to identify the species and estimate the length, then cross-references the right state Fish & Wildlife regulations to give you a clear KEEP or RELEASE verdict.

You stay in control. If the AI gets the species wrong, you can correct it before the verdict. Confidence under 70% is flagged so you can retake.

Where the rules come from

All regulations are sourced directly from official state Fish & Wildlife agencies and refreshed annually. Every verdict links back to the source so you can verify.

Phase 1 covers 10 states: Florida, Texas, California, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, New York, Colorado, Alaska, and Georgia.

What's coming next

Phase 2 brings a fishing-spot map and small private sharing. Phase 3 adds a knowledge base — knot guides, rigs, and tactics by species and region.

Reel stays focused: no leaderboards, no infinite feeds, no ads.

Reel is a reference tool, not a substitute for the law. Always verify with your state Fish & Wildlife.
